Trying to get a sense for how popular ad blockers are with y'all? 1. I use a browser extension based ad blocker 2. I use a Pi-hole or equivalent network ad blocker 3. I use a VPN ad blocker 4. I don't use an ad blocker
Browser (uBlock) because it works even for in-video ads (YouTube, Hulu, etc)
Brave is good twitters and instagram is 👎🏾clubhouse is good but how to get company money for running? Use 2 earn will good. Ad watch decide by user is good. Ex. Stellawalk (Japanese app) or Now maybe just token airdropping.
1 Although I heard that Chromium based browsers were about to ban add blockers, so I guess Firefox will be my default soon.
1: ublock origin, adblock plus, privacy badger Planning to introduce 2 in the coming months as well
I use the 1Block content blocker on iOS, don’t use macOS or other desktop OS so don’t know what’s on there.
1. Brave, AdGuard 3. AdGuard VPN (browser extension) Proton VPN (desktop app)
4. Esp as crypto use goes up, number of browser extensions of any sort has dropped to about zero
ublock origin + pi hole i value my time so much that i also have an extension that automatically skips ads integrated to youtube videos too (the ones in the actual videos)
Pi hole + ublock origin Ublock does more than just adds. I use it hide cookie pop-ups and distracting sidebars
1. Also I have a second extension just for Twitter that does a great job at removing Twitter “recommendations” and other annoying things.
1 Brave + 3 Proton ... you have to be careful though with stacking ad blockers, if a site breaks it because of it sometimes it's hard to find which one to turn off. (personal experience, had at some point too many ad blockers 😆)
1 + 2 at home 1 + 2 via 3 when not at home with tailscale.com running on my home server
the best kinda ad blocker when you didn't use your ad-blocker enabled browser.
1-I use an ad blocker based on the Brave Browser extension and 3- VPN ad blocker
1. Brave works mostly fine. Mostly. It sometimes misses out on some click hijackers. uMatrix to handle the rest. Tampermonkey for custom mods, autoremovers, & webpage improvements.
been enjoooying adblockers since firefox. used 2 & 3 in other settings, but not necessarily for blocking ads.
Pi-holes are the bane of my existance sooooo much being blocked by it I recommend extension and specific browsers like brave : )
4 Having ads means there's not enough value in this experience to pay for, hence a chance of my churning
I recall that 40%+ of events were missing at CB because of ad blockers cc @programmer
Option 1 and 2. I also kill ads by paying for certain subscriptions, such as YouTube Premium.
2, sometimes 3. Try to avoid using browser extensions, so use Brave's native version of 1.
I don’t use any except whatever ships with whatever I’m using. I feel like I’d easily spend more time setting up the lockers than just ignoring them when they show up. Tbh I don’t know when I even see ads anymore anyway??
4 because you should experience how normal users do as a product builder
I use: - Ublock Origin - Cookie prompt blocker - Pi-hole Keeps things sane
I use Opera which includes VPN and adblocker out of the box little bias as i work there for many years but solid product
1 + 2 plus i have a /etc/hosts file that black holes about 80,000 domains.
1+2 1) I use extensions like uBlock, I don’t care about cookies and SponsorBlock on desktop. 2) I have a Pi-Hole on the network for when I use Arc and mobile browsers.
