My top learning is diff between programming and engineering. Programming focuses on the logic that makes a thing work. This isn’t always easy but generally doable (especially with chatgpt). Engineering is making a large codebase read + work well, scaling it over time. Much harder than the logic part.

Got a bit delayed due to Apple's TestFlight review, going through the list in order. Will reach out to a few folks everyday :)

the database behind the sql playground came back online about an hour ago, which finally brings back the final missing piece shoutout to @manan for firefighting today (yes at one point I actually made things worse while trying to fix them, I blame 3 hours of sleep 🤦🏽‍♂️) 🪐

happy to walk through on a call if you want to add new user registration to your app

Backend is for "signer_uuid" <> user mapping. When the user account is created, you presumably want to be able to get write access for the user in your app where the user is onboarding. The signer_uuid provides that and you can store that against the user identifier on your side

no I absolutely do not mean that! users can bring in their self custody wallets, there is no need for you, or neynar, or anyone else to ever take control of their mnemonic. they can sign a message requesting creation of a new FC account. They can then sign into Warpcast using that same mnemonic

just use our frame validation API, you will be able to validate the frame action and all the data you need in the same API call: https://docs.neynar.com/reference/validate-frame

no journey is without its set of doubts but we made deliberate decisions throughout. we had been on Farcaster since 2021 (I might be among the few consistent DAU since back then), had been impressed with how Dan and Varun were building. we wanted to build on top of the protocol. https://warpcast.com/rish/0x8a65199d

we were building a consumer app on farcaster rails in the pre hub days, were likely among the first to run our own hubs and indexers when they launched. during a brainstorm, we decided to throw up a webpage that let users pay to access hubs and people started paying within hours. now here we are

for the very fundamental stuff, we usually already agree or are able to agree pretty quickly. those similarities are why we decided to build a company together :)

I feel like we disagree multiple times a week. We usually have a built in system of who the decision maker usually is - e.g. for technical decisions, Manan is the decision maker. I can push back but he decides in the end. When decision maker is not clear, we usually say "you should decide" or something similar

tbh just ask chatgpt to write a sql query and you can run that query on our sql playground why hasn't @manan shown you how to do this yet
