Yeah 90%, but I also have subdomains for my multisigs/smart contract wallets: {safe,vault}.dfern.eth, so I consider all of them to be part of the same 'onchain identity'

Waku itself is just a message transport protocol, it doesn't provide encryption or longterm archival. XMTP, from what I gather, wants to have that email-like experience where msgs don't get dropped until you delete them. It also has a key generation/keystore mechanisms so you aren't using your EOA to sign chats.

With NN Taleb and Mike Green, I always just parse their statements with s/crypto/Bitcoin&ghost-chains/g and I end up agreeing with it. Also that they both tend to argue from first principles. This is not the same for Zehian who is closer to Ben McKenzie in terms of arguing based on vibes and narrative gestalt.

Agreed, I don't use Lens because it's never shown any promise of talking about anything other than crypto.

Wow, finally. But still odd because you get a pseudonym instead of getting to choose a name like ENS

Also, not sure if RLN is compatible with Eigenlayer, in which case, node-runners wouldn't have to post any additional capital, but I'm not sure why node-runners would choose to run a node if there's no financial incentive to do so (like new token emissions on some blockchain).

Not sure if there are any limitations on the assets that you need to stake an RLN smartcontract, but also node-runners might protest that they want to stake wstETH rather than ETH, where they would presumably get the staking interest back upon exiting the contract. Presumably wstETH yields are <<< than ETH yields.

As an aside, one idea I had to fund Farcaster protocol development might be to have users stake ETH (or maybe a FC-specific ERC-20 sold by some FC DAO) in a Rate Limiting Nullifier smartcontract. You could throw the ETH at Lido/Rocketpool and any interest earned on the staked ETH could go to fund the protocol.

I think he's on Australia time, so I'll let him respond when he wakes up, but I'm watching this ethCC workshop from 2 days ago: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dMxs5GcbgG4 I also like this talk (1 year ago to the date), given to the Ethereum Engineering Group: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CBknF-6Z-Ds

That's a good analogy, because the long term goal is to build lightclients (Nimbus is already doing this on EthOS) that are a check on RPCs. Perhaps a Farcaster mobile lightclient. Even further out there: a SNARK of a personalized feed, sorted by an algo of your choice (aka ZKML).

I didn't know Coin Center had a podcast, but this clip on the recent Ripple case (and it's relationship to Beaver farming) had me lol: https://youtube.com/clip/UgkxSDitFY2Rqh6JsJYr_5biClV00QXzC4WQ

Well, as I see it: 1. Having a common OP Stack standard will result in a common bridging standard, leading to seamless UI/UX. The friction must be solved, but not by nuking sharding. 2. Also different shared sequencer sets will lead to less contention, for ex, a gas war on DeFi L2 won't spill over onto a Zora mint.

I like using my ENS everywhere because it unifies my identity across multiple platforms... But since ENS is about to become a thing soon on FC, the protocol spec is going to handle my identity graph for me, back to real names?

I don't think privacy is a big priority, given that sign ups are not permissionless and hubs are still whitelisted. There hasn't been major spam issues, because spammers & annoying ppl just get shadowbanned by the core team. Obviously this will all change with permissionless sign ups...

I find the Rust community a bit to dramatic. I like Zig's proposal to ease in with an existing C++ codebase rather than rip and replace.
