On an average weekday morning, how much time do you spend between waking up and sitting down at your desk to start working?
I’ve to catch a ride with my dad these days so normally wake @ 745 and open visual studio @ 8:45
1-2 hrs – gym/yoga + tea/coffee (For me, sitting down at desk without working out will generally result in not working out at all that day, which leads to burnout in my body within days)
During my last job, about 10 min. Sometimes I would wake up and immediately pull open my laptop in bed. Now anywhere from 30 min to 4 hrs 😁 Much better this way
The real question is how long does it take between opening your eyes and opening farcaster on your phone 🟪
Perhaps you meant to ask how long does one hurkle-durkle?
Usually do 1-2 hours early before the world wakes up, so 5 mins after waking
It really fluctuates, but I typically prefer 1.5 hours before. Usually a minimum of 30-45 minutes though. You?
I wake up, cold water to my face. Work. Coffee. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work. Make silly internet frands. Work. Work. Work. Work. Talk to imaginary demons in the gym. Work. Work. Work. Work. Work.
~40 ish mins Work for a couple hours early morning before workout and then get back to normal day’s work
bout an hr or so in a meditative state (not just meditation) + organizing priorities, feeding the critters
Ideally 30 or so mins max, though it’s been turning more into an hour-hour and a half at this point
1h ish 20min Meditation 10min workout while food is on the stove 20min eating 10min random stuff
A loose routine of exercise happens before I sit at my machine, but the work starts before I hit my desk.
Generally 2-3 hours: - Get ready - Quick bite - Walk Ice Doggy Dogg - Meditate - Breakfast + coffee prep (consumed as I sit at my desk) It only really changes when I have early meetings.
2 - 3 hours, though I’m trying (without much success, so far) to cut that down
~1.5 hours before actually sitting down but often am working from my Phone within 30 mins of waking up
snooze the alarm three times, reach for phone, start working — gradually move to a vertical position, largely necessitated by the need to make coffee
I spend at least half hour in bed with my phone, and then another half hour making my coffee. I would give it 1.5hr before I start going ham :)
Ik it’s unhealthy but it’s majorly some work call that wakes me up so maybe 20 seconds
as a mfers I don't have an office and I don't have a job except for shit posting
4 hours Usually 1 hr of self care - meditate, run and/or gym 2 hours to get kids up, ready and to school .5-1 hour walk dog, with morning phone calls and a bit of work
3 hours If I’m lucky, I’ll get close to an hour alone before everyone else wakes up. Then breakfast with the fam, walk my older kids to school, then I drop my son at preschool on my way into my office
Two hours at least, though depends on how early the kids get me up or whether I’m trying to hit the gym before the work day.
~2.5 hours....best life decision I made ~6 months ago is start my life with something other than work. So in that time is meditate, workout, cold shower, eat.
Typically 3 hours. Get up by 7am Work out till ~9 am Get ready, eat breakfast & do some household chores Get to my desk by 10 am.
sometimes i never sit in my desk haha, i have a working table to stay in bed all day
i'd say around 45 minutes or so. definately time to do some movements/motion before i plug into the matrix/darkbrandon/bullshit
-5 min when I oversleep for an 8am meeting to 1-2h on meeting days to 2-4h on writing days
3 hours wake up at 7 shower / stretch / supplements by 8 walk + think until 9 computer by 10 work til midnight repeat
Usually about 30 minutes. I roll out of bed, put on a robe, brush my teeth, sometimes decide to just keep wearing the robe instead of getting dressed, walk upstairs, take my meds, walk up more stairs, turn on the computer, and start replying to all the comms.
3.5 hrs — 6 am kids wake me up, 930 am at desk — what happens in between is the most important part of the day
2.5 hours Workout / walk dog / breakfast Critical to give the brain some time to be creative before the day begins
I'm on hybrid WFH, so when at home it's 30 minutes, when going to the office it's 2.5 hours
As long as it takes me to get the kids breakfast / dressed / off to school then (sometimes) get myself dressed / fed / etc. ~2 hours 🥺
First cup of coffee is for reconnecting, and taking notes on comms to re-establish context. Also reviewing previous days notes. This takes 30-45 mins. Second cup of coffee is to try to get into flow, if flow is on the schedule.
