It reminds me a bit of the strange phenomenon that a Catholic and a Protestant are prone to disagreeing more vehemently with each other than either with an Atheist. Or maybe I should pose this as a question: Do Sam and Elon now have less affinity with each other than either with Trad Politics as a whole?
MM truly does care about the ability to allow multiple clients to build on protocol… but I think they may underrate how hard it is to build a competent client that can build mini-Twitter for many communities So many people who already have networks and would bring them here… if there was something off the shelf

Office and family brackets are never going anywhere — super fun But they don’t scale well. 90% of people who fill one out for ESPN or CBS are eliminated immediately and then kind of tune out after that There’s a lot of opportunity to create an engagement with the tournament and other fans that remains engaging
Yes I would also play this if it existed! For us, we are interested in giving fans real life power over their team — far beyond just a one time tournament. BG is a fun mechanism to jumpstart that process
Could be fun too. Just not what we’re building. What do you think the value of it is being onchain vs existing versions nonchain versions of that?
You don’t have to recalibrate your positions. But that will be the fun part. Something to do during the games
Similarity of BG to office bracket is that you do better by picking the teams that will go far in the tourney. Differences of BG: (1) market prices (2) dont have pick whole bracket at start (3) can recalibrate positions based on what you see in happening in live games (4) can hold positions for next year
Great passage! Seeing good political design as a “balance of conflicts” is even more radical than the related observation of Montesquieu and the US Founders: Bc Machiavelli is not only claiming that institutional powers must be allowed to fight each other, but that classes of *actual people* must be as well.
Can’t wait man. What we doing on 29?
Imo you were (1) correct and (2) jabbing in an obvious spirit of fun.
This is awesome
I see what ye did | did ey tahw ees I
Awesome. Sorry for not being up to date to latest developments before complaining! This will be huge for the upcoming Bull…
