Hello to all the new comers! Farcaster is a community that values building and experimentation. Holler at me if you are interested in video streaming!

If you just want to archive the video, decentralized storage solutions like web3.storage (IPFS based), Bundlr (Arweave based) and Storj come to mind. If you also want the videos to be streamable, you should check out Livepeer! It transcodes and caches the video from decentralized storage, and has an embeddable player.
I can’t believe the topic of Reddit API change hasn’t come up once in all my conversations at Farcon.
Farcon activity #1: community based idea generation on how to improve Farcaster. ❤️Builders❤️
Submitted a discussion thread about video streaming interoperability between clients. I would love to get community feedback! https://github.com/farcasterxyz/protocol/discussions/94
Protocols increases competition for applications / clients, but that seems to require some initial demand. Until then, protocols should consider building the official client, make them open source, and document how to build new clients.
Thanks! Still exploring all the technical requirements for a decentralized video infrastructure in the context of social, but content moderation / video analysis feels pretty important.
Would be great to have the nerf service as a public good (or at least a public ally accessible service) for all client developers. I’ve been thinking about that a lot - Livepeer can offer AI based tagging for NSFW videos, and clients can decide what to do.
Content moderation for decentralized social can be implemented via the combination of: 1. Incentivized feed creation 2. AI based tagging 3. Community oriented policy / light enforcement We need this now, or the whole thing won’t work.

A comprehensive builder profile. Work experience, previous/current projects, endorsement from others.
I wish there is a more comprehensive profile view in the purple app. So many cool builders here, so little context for each person.
Check mark to question mark update makes a lot of sense. Probably generates more clicks.
