Warpcast shows you a screen where you can "undo" your cast before you post it. Do you find this useful?
somewhat...but it usually reverts back to "no channel" for some reason, so I usually have to press "undo" just as a precaution since it's on a timer.
Asymmetric upside for me: Never bothers me and sometimes helps me
Usually no. If I’m replying to many casts in a short period, I barely reread for typos and just rush to hit the cast button again. When I do need to take time to proofread, usually for longer casts, the timer is too short. My wish: make the character length a factor of the duration, and add a way to disable undo.
Yes, it should be, especially for those for whom English is not a mother language.
great timing! I hate it https://warpcast.com/grin/0x4cb1a316
it's an interesting reminder/nudge but I believe the color of the button makes it stand out more than it should. it feels like Warpcast doesn't want me to cast.
No because the functionality it was intended for doesn’t even work Touch undo or cancel and it just casts anyway, and it’s just a close follow clone of twitter functionality anyway Don’t need to clone twitter Twitter can suck an egg
No. I find the suggestion that I should post in channels annoying, too. It’s like Instagram constantly nudging me to transform all my content into Reels. I’ll do what I want, engagement be damned. 😅
Mostly just find it annoying tbh. Frustrates me 100% of the time Vs. The very occasional typo or mis-post I would have made would be forgiven by any reader aware there’s no edit button. Feels like a weird nod to early Reddit written cultural rules around grammatical accuracy
Ended up being valuable thanks to the new autocorrect behaviors of iOS adding text to the end of my sentences that I didn’t intend to put
I don’t like it personally But let’s see the data! What percent of the time is it used? By how many users?
Yes. Wasn’t a fan at first but have since undone numerous casts. I welcome the small amount of friction for higher quality casts.
Undo is helpful. The channel thingy is not. At this stage my eyes are on my cast, hunting for typos and inspiring self doubt. I never check the other corner. Also, back should undo not confirm.
Its a nice idea but not well executed... - The timer is too short to catch any subtle errors - Id rather have a preview & submit screen than a timed undo screen
I think it would be helpful if it made smart recommendations on channels to tag that you could add by clicking a pill underneath the draft or something. Most of the mistakes I make casting aren’t content related, but simply forgetting to add a channel (or not knowing the perfect channel exists)
It has saved me from spelling embarrassment a couple of times, so I would say yes.
If I had a choice, I'd disable it. At the very least, hitting the back arrow should undo not send cast
No, 1/3 of the time I look at the screen perplexed about what I’m looking at, 1/3 I immediately tap cast, 1/3 I accidentally tap undo. I don’t think I’ve legitimately have used this feature as intended.
It forces me to re-read what I typed and catches issues 10% of the time. 10% is worth it to me.
I hated it at the beginning. Found it useful with the time. Used it at least 2-3 times today. I found that the timer gets stopped when I change the focus to other app.
more of an UI change: instead of showing pop up to undo, only show the undo button in the new cast, which would disappear in 15 seconds. Because 99% of the time you don't undo and having to confirm casting everytime is kinda tedious
What’s the cost of deleting a cast and re-doing it immediately after posting?
Yes, but I would like the UX to be different. Right now, the undo action feels more dominant. I suppose it’s a subjective design decision, but it doesn’t feel correct to me.
Yeah, I like this feature, I find that I'm not really forced to think about my tweet/cast until those moments
Would rather have it be like gmail where it sends, but the cast has a little note saying undo for a few seconds until I click off that screen. Currently it’s usually just an auto double click to cast
Maybe it’d be ok if leaving the app before the timer meant the cast was sent, but it seems like an arbitrary keep the app open timer atm.
It can be useful, but what I would like is the ability to fire-and-forget. Having to press 'Cast Now' or wait for it to send when I can move on to the next thing right after hitting 'Cast', is just not it.
No. Lol. I go all in.. consequences be damned. I'm living my authentic life everywhere.
I like the idea but have not edited anything based on it. It’s easy to just double-tap (or wait) 😁
I find it useful, I use it as a last minute check for typos / check if I’ve tagged a channel etc
Yes, I find the typo exactly 1 second after the timer completes and makes the cast. 🤦
at first I had to get used to it, and at times found it annoying (also at first it was a longer wait) - but now (also now it’s speedier) find it quite handy. mostly to check also if I’m actually posting in a channel, which I sometimes forget
Not much. 99% of the time I just click “cast now” without reading the post again. Would love an option to disable or ability to edit a cast afterwards
Would find it useful if it was a less obstructive UI element like the little flag in Superhuman. But the separate page is too much
Yes. I do. It's on mobile and I often have typos on mobile 🤣 Plus, there's the cast now button to speed things up.
Would like to have it optional and maybe even configurable - like to show on first cast but maybe not every reply? I’m not sure if I’ve ever used it
Useful, but: 1. I wish it was a toggle-able preference 2. I wish the UI didn't assume I want to undo every cast
the differences on opinion with this one are big. how do you make a design decision when the user feedback is like this?
Yes useful but could use tweaks https://warpcast.com/nor/0xf35c0c cc @abhishek1point0 @cameron @antimofm.eth
Replacing the “undo” screen with the ability to edit a cast for ~1 minute after casting would have the same upside, no? (I’m assuming editing may add technical complexity and is not preferred atm) Or make the undo screen togglable as a setting—personally never used it
I have never actually undone. But I love that it’s there. If everyone took a second to think before posting the world would be a better place.
I recently casted something about this. https://warpcast.com/sagar/0x9732c68b
I like it, but I don't like how hitting the back button triggers submission and a slow loading state. would much prefer to see the screen, but easily be able to back out instantly.
Useful, extra time to ponder what I’m saying is always a good thing for me haha.
Overall useful. A couple of times I hit cast and locked my phone so it didn’t send and I realized only much later but once adjusted it’s fine.
Great feature. Especially if it saves you from paying for a post only to delete it, fix the error and repay/repost.
I find it annoying. Makes me want to cancel the cast. Could you instead show an undo option after casting?
I think it's a great feature. I'm sure it will save us all from some bullshit when people reconsider whether they actually need to post what they typed, or if spelling it out was enough and it doesn't actually need to be said.
Extremely useful! But it would be cool if we could disable it should one not wish to see it everytime.
