A hobby you used to spend a lot of time doing that you no longer do and have zero interest re-engaging with? For me, EVE Online.
video games. was hyper addicted (played 12hrs/day) and now I played for maybe 10 hours in the last 10 years :)
Used to spend 4+ hours a day playing guitar from 15-20. Haven’t touched one in a year
Installing various distributions of Linux on old laptops and messing up the master boot record.
FPV drones. I built maybe 100 of them, haven't flown in the past couple years.
Man, sooo many things. Wish I had time to do music again tho but not sure if I would be as engaged
Pursuit of actual permissionless and trustless p2p tech -- Giving up on this goal, after having seen yield farm Ponzis & art projects receive the vast majority of the success in the past wave. Thinking "maybe those original goals weren't the right goals after all." (^ Not myself, but ~99% of crypto community rn.)
Music production - used to consume nearly all my spare tTim. Now only really do it now if I need to make a quick soundscape or smthn
writing fiction -- wrote a book when I was 17 (was pretty bad lol) and thought I really enjoyed that kind of writing but don't anymore
Music and synth diddling. Kinda realized that for me, making the instruments was (mostly) more fun than playing them.
I'm guilty of running a top 200 Clash of Clans clan in high school. Won't be downloading that app to my phone ever again lolol
some code/tech areas: virtual machine design, compiler design games: destiny, WoW
Thinking about this makes me realize how much I maintain my interests over long periods of time (decades). With that said, got swept up in Skyrim a while back and have no desire to return
No joke Eve Online was my gateway drug to the startup world high school me was like ... man if I'm working so hard on building a business in Eve ... maybe I should try and do that in the .... real world ...
Competitive gaming as a whole. Clocked over 500h on Dota2 and cs:go. Now I don't even bother.
Video games seem to be a common answer here, glad I'm not alone! My poison of choice was Starcraft. Film photography, using/customising linux have also fallen by the wayside. Still browse https://www.reddit.com/r/unixporn/ tho!
- setting up all sorts of Linux distros - elaborately customizing my IDE or the window manager - installing Linux on all sorts of machines (Nokia tablets, Chromebooks, etc) bonus (not a hobby): RoR
Rocket League for me, it was a fun challenge to try and get good at it, but now it's all wrapped up in the memories of everything else that was going on in my life at the time
leisurely activity I have zero interest re-engaging with is drinking alcohol
Pokémon. played seriously gen I - III. Got burned out training and moved to Pokémon online where it becomes more like chess and everyone can just pick their Pokémon, moves, etc. Won a GameFAQs championship (yes this was a long time ago). I tried black & white but just can’t train or keep up anymore.
This is actually a super fascinating prompt. Surfaces hobbies that have a "finish line"
SNES tournaments at Blockbuster. Writing Visual Basic and Pascal. Fantasy wrestling leagues on Geocities.
efeds. I dedicated a lot of time and effort to character building for a few years. I was truly obsessed with it but can’t imagine ever doing it again.
Oh god you used to play eve online? Read so much crazy stories about espionages and how everything was non-immutable
triathlon races though i still love each of swimming, biking, and running as independent sports
MMOs is definitely one. I used to play Ragnarok Online and MapleStory. Cannot invest the time anymore.
Studying ants. Still love them, but at this point, I would need to become an entomologist.

Gardening Have had multiple attempts to restart the hobby, but without much luck. Haven’t re-attempted in 3 years now.
Orchestra. Being a violinist was a big part of my identity from ages 4-18 but I realized I wasn't in love with it. Would still like to pick up the violin again in a more casual context one day but I haven't played in like 6 years.
Spending all my free time looking for music. Combing through the blogosphere to find a fresh or obscure remix or original track. Curating selections of music for live sets. Collecting high quality archives of CDs through private torrent trackers. Connecting old hard drives to look for things.
World of Warcraft. I can’t find the time anymore and currently not happy with Blizzard.
Interesting to see how most comments correlate to unproductive habits e.g. gaming, tv
organized team sports honestly still have interest in this but just don't give it priority - exercise has become more of a thing for my sanity than for fun at this point (not that I don't enjoy it, I just like to be efficient with it)
Poker...I'll still join in on a social game, but the last time I tried playing online I just cashed out after a couple hands and haven't looked back.
Golf Played almost daily in college Hit a few rounds recently and it just takes…so…long
Online games, tv shows, movies, going to cinemas, working without interest only for $, ex-wife, trading crypto
Minecraft. Got really into coordinating folks to build collaborative structures. Good times, but I'm more interested in building other stuff these days.
