Where do you code? 1. VSCode 2. vim 3. emacs 4. Sublime 5. Xcode 6. Something else?
ms word! jk, vscode https://x.com/iam_viz/status/1702247324498469150?s=46
6. So uh, I’ve been editing some code directly from the GitHub web interface… 😬
1. VSCode and sometimes make very minor tweaks to front-end code directly in GitHub’s web editor
2. Neovim + tmux But took a detour to vscode before I found some great neovim plugin guidance from ThePrimeagen on YouTube. Prior to that I used emacs (spacemacs) for a couple years during my time as a clojure dev. Started w vim in like 2014. Bestie that prob sublime 😂
4. Sublime Would love to use Zed but it doesn't support Deno's language server.
Was a long time sublime user. VSCode for last few years and been loving it. About to try cursor.
vscode w/ vim extension, to me it has all the benefits of vim but with none of the hassles.
RStudio for R, VSCode for Python I also have vim open but only because I couldn’t figure out how to exit
threemacs currently spacemacs. I’d like to shift to doom but not sure i can justify the transition cost with my current amount of coding..
VSCode for TypeScript IntelliJ (or its variants like Pycharm) for other languages
VSCode and a little bit of Xcode/Android Studio (only for app releases)
haha I subbed to the dev channel yesterday and this morning I‘m now seeing this rage inducing question and I remembered that I had forgotten to unfollow the dev channel again
Intellij big time. Does 90% out of the box of what I could achieve by tweaking vim/emacs regularly
2 neovim for 90% of the work, Rider for Unreal Engine, wouldn't mind trying the new RustRover from JetBrains too! vscode as a quick text editor in Windows
Mix of 1 & 6, was maining intellij ide’s but switched to cursor/vscode for general speed of development, however will occasionally open IntelliJ ultimate for better intellisense if I need it
it may be unsurprising that I had dark days with emacs, but now I use visual studio like a good boy
VSCode Used to go with JetBrains stuff, but it would eat up any hardware I threw at it, so I got used to less powerful refactoring tools
Sublime but trying to switch to VS Code or an "AI IDE" in the next year or so.
Vscode; If it’s python I use notepad because I only play games on the highest difficulty setting
2, vim for 15+ years and probably the rest of my life. Many hours invested in tweaking my configs, all continue to pay dividends forever.
