There are actually 9 layers, from back to front: 1. Background 2. Back of the scarf 3. Back of the shawl 4. Body 5. Dress and pin (clothing layer) 6. Front of the shawl 7. Hair 8. Eyewear 9. Front of the scarf We chose to split a few features into two separate layers so they would nicely wrap around other objects.
I find it really hard to switch between building/designing and posting on social so I just default to what I do best (the former). Yet Iām fully aware that if I donāt talk about my work, Iām essentially building for no one. I need Forecaster OKRs š
Iāve learned most of these things the hard, way through years of design experience. Itās very satisfying to seem them all in one place, nicely articulated and rationalized.
Iāve been wondering about that. The challenge is that people who are willing to pay are likely the most lucrative users. So the incentive is low, unless you can use a custom sliding scale? Wild guess for IG: Iām thinking $8/month average but with a sliding scale I may be a $20/month user š
Iām certainly not an expert on the topic, just genuinely curious what the challenges are. I imagine moderating content tends to involve a subjective decisions?
Iām not sure I understand the obsession to protect free speech, at least not the way itās framed today. You should be able to say what you think and challenge peopleās thoughts but whatās the value in spreading blatantly wrong info or sharing hateful content? Vernon Subutex, by Virginie Despentes. So good if youāre into fiction and a certain kind of Parisian lifestyle.
There are a few examples but the first that comes to mind is hoodies. Whenever they are worn under a jacket, we wanted the hood piece to naturally rest over the jacket. So we had to create a new layer for this type of garment.
Yes! Several. We made room for inserting these surprise layers by giving them names such as "100, 200, 300" instead of 1,2,3, etc.
Curious to know how an NFT collection is made? I wrote a thread about our process for designing & generating the characters of Young Lovers Social Club: https://twitter.com/YoungLoversSC/status/1567165405692858371
For instance I may be walking on a street smelling steak and I know someone is cooking in one of the houses nearby, even though I havenāt seen them. And then I use my mental model to imagine visuals for the scene (infusing it with a generous amount of personal bias).
I havenāt thought about amounts (how do you even quantify that?) but after working at Cruise I often think about how we use smell and hearing to enrich our visual mapping of scenes. Itās fascinating to think of ourselves as machines with calibrated sensors.
@nico @matallo Just saw these! +1 for tech wear. And wow, thatās quite the hat šš¼šš¼šš¼
Alright Gentlemen, let me help. *Takes deep breath* What does ābasedā mean?
I love that picture! It's a bit challenging to convey "sexy Asian" without facial features (our lovers don't have any) but I will try and capture your hairstyle. What are the glasses you're wearing?
