Do you have a standing desk? If so, what percentage of the time spent at your desk are you standing?
I do. 99% of the time I spend sitting but it is nice to have to option.
yes. surprisingly spending more and more time standing (probably around 60% today).
Yes, 80% of the time standing. I had terrible neck pain after a year of wfh and standing fixed it
I moved and sold mine, miss it a lot. Was about 50/50 but varied by the day. For more deep work I preferred sitting, compared with standing for presentations or meetings. Also would recommend one of these so you aren’t locking your knees: https://a.co/d/0DAnhMr
Around 50/50, most of the time I naturally sit down but then I realize I’m sitting down too much and I stand up
Less than 5%. I just can’t seem to find the right standing posture for focused coding
Definitely, and about 50-50. But it’s all useless if you don’t have a monitor at the right height so you aren’t looking down for slouching over your keyboard.
all of my desks are standing and cost < $80 i stand 100% of my working time i don't own a chair
i used to, but i was never using it so i got rid of it i prefer getting away from the desk and going for a walk instead
Yes, 40% I have one of the fidget boards to shift back and forth on which is very helpful
Yes, 20% (daily). This number changes depending on other activity. If I am able to go for a long walk, then I sit more than stand.
Yes - about 50/50. I find that a balance board makes the standing more bearable (even fun). https://www.upliftdesk.com/bamboo-motion-x-board-by-uplift-desk/
Yes, only during Zoom meetings; Not for health reasons but to hide my bed in the background
I was barely using it last year and this year it went all the way up to 70% of my work time. Was great for my back, posture and I lost some weight because of it too (because it’s easier to pace around the room)
yes, 30%? i got a tall chair so there are some times im half standing
Hmm 10% standing if I use it. Main issue is monitor height, need to upgrade the office
Yes, ~50% Standing for email / virtual meetings. Sitting for deep work like writing, data analysis or coding.
0% stand. But it’s amazing when you need to lift the desk up to do cable management!
yes, 20% Even when sitting, it's still advantageous because I can adjust the height to be juuuuuust right
I stand when giving preventions to executives to control my nervous energy 😅
I aim to keep mornings for active work: standing. Research, leisure, and procrastinating — all sitting. 50:50 split of the time I’m at my desk, which is 40% of my day.
about 25-30%, and 50% of that time is spent walking on a low profile treadmill.
I did. Maybe once every 2-weeks, till I can’t find proper placement and sit, ~2-3hrs in (clearly I should be doing opposite). Now I have a more “designer-ish” feel office, different spaces to have different postures, kinda digging it. Credit goes to the wife.
yes. 80pct. disconnected the plug to the motor so that sitting down means having to go and plug it in under the table. i move from desk to couch and back..
Yes - usually for a few hours in the afternoon when the coffee is wearing off…
Yes, have had a standing desk since maybe 2009? I use it 99% of the time.
really considered getting one of these...but def not after seeing this thread lol https://deskview.co/collections/products/products/deskview-wood
I almost never use it - does anyone have one of those treadmill desks? Worth it or nah?
I do. I tend to stand when I have calls (for some reason I feel I am more engaged in a conversation when I am standing up) and sit down when I am doing focus work
Yes. 100% I used to have a sit/stand desk at work and tended to just sit. So in my home office setup I was purposeful in not getting a chair. First month my legs were tired (could especially feel it on runs), but I got used to it. Now it’s weird to sit down at work. Surprise benefit — no more lower back pain!
