The saddest thing is the people here who constantly harp about community are just happy to the coolest kids at the table, they couldn’t care less about the business aspect of this protocol at all despite it being the only thing that matters
they care a little bit! No cap tho, reading the coolest people’s content is uhhh well it’s usually not very interesting content outside the silo. Can you share more about aspects of the protocol business
I think the biweekly dev calls and GitHub conversations might be what you are looking for. There are many venture funded teams here trying to help make the business work.
Lots of people have asked for more controversy / differing opinions on WC - and less echo chamber. This is an important conversation. Less a WC specific one imho and more a web3 one in general. Cc @dwr @v
and for sure I feel cool af. look at me bro. You ever seen purple look this good! money, all day.
> hey couldn’t care less about the business aspect of this protocol at all despite it being the only thing that matters I don't understand -- care to expand?
What suggestions do you have? I think I’m hearing: (1) open up access, and (2) attract better builders(?). I’m I interpreting that correctly?
As one of the people that has praised the community here, I hope that it isn’t just a “cool kids at the table” phenomenon. Have you tried adding a location in your profile to see nearby people, or checking out citycaster.xyz to find a community near you?
A few thoughts 1. We should thank @preach for offering thots on growing FC, not chastise them. We need all the ideas we can get 2. growth tends to solve a lot of problems. There are about 1500 weekly active users of FC today. We’ll be having very different conversations at 10k WAU and 25k WAU... longcast.jam.so/jjEGUE
Feels like the desire to be “the cool kid at the table” can be harnessed to grow the business. Many popular accounts are builders in the ecosystem, and that feel like a positive signal. At the end of the day, Farcaster wins when there is an ecosystem of interesting apps.
