Which of the following best represents your web3 identify? (Try to select only 1) 1. Your ENS name 2. Your collection of NFTs 3. One NFT in particular 4. The events you’ve attended 5. The project you are working on rn 6. The projects you have worked on 7. Your casts on Farcaster 8. Something else?
My nfts that are worth nothing say the most about me, but kinda the events I go to too
Well... isn't the obvious answer all of them. That's what an identiy is, them sum of all of your (in this case Web3) parts.
probably depends on the target use case of that identity? identity on twitter/ linkedin/ insta can all be different. there’s no one single web2 identity for most people
8. Something else = Exploring. Wouldn’t say anything in web 3 individually represents my identity
A little of all of it. I started out exclusively NFTs but I love diving down all things and connecting those things to the people who can benefit from them.
1,4,5. You can tell a lot about someone looking at their POAPs actually (if they have any). Great question!
#1 if I had to pick just one, but identity is made up of multiple things.
8. The country I represent 8. The art I do 8. The people I’ve helped onboard
As a simple representation of identity, it’s gotta be #1. Or .lens / .sol / etc. That format is the usernames of Web3, owned by the user and transportable across apps and ecosystems.
probably 1, 2 and interested to surface more about 4,5,6 in the future. Also voting history, but that's spread out across multiple wallets...
8. My avatar in Decentraland which is a collection of NFTs that are digital wearable items. Also emotes or short animated files define my web3 identify
Still defining mine, but I think my ens and this silly NFT of SBF because I’m a sarcastic person and nobody should take life so seriously they can’t laugh at themselves.
I don't think it's fair to ask just for 1) It would be like chosing my favorite kid!
"Do I contradict myself? Very well then I contradict myself, (I am large, I contain multitudes.)" - Walt Whitman This is so interesting, especially the number of folks that instinctively pushed back on a single choice.
3. Tricky, because I am embarking kind of two journeys. A public, where a PFP is linked to an ENS. (Weaseling out: ENS = NFT, so 1, 3 😊). For the more silent journey, "pure ENS" eventually shall prevail. Thank you for provoking thought, Jason.
I’d say owning my personal name on all popular blockchains. That’s my end goal when it comes to Web3 identity. For example, I’m not the owner of petar.eth but I’m looking forward to bidding on it once I have more funds.
1. Activity can be mapped but wallet address doesn’t show the entire proof of work. 2. Need to tell my story through the NFTs I own. Opensea/Wallets don’t cut it and they’re disconnected, all about price.
It will be different depending on the use case but I am hoping that a w3 domain name will tie all your opted in wallets together so you could have 1 group of wallets connected to 1 domain name and likewise for another context. I think the less obvious piece is how users can optin x or y variables to be their profile
Thanks for all the responses to this! We listened! The new Jam app features - identify verified by ENS - profiles featuring your Groups based on your onchain collectibles (ethereum and polygon) - remix your profile to express your identity
