@briang and my grandpa passed away yesterday, he was 90 years old and the most badass person I've ever known - surviving the cultural revolution, communist china, raising 8 kids in rural anhui as a carpenter with barely any high school education, and those kids going on to become professors, doctors, architects etc.
my grandma (his wife) passed away over 20 years ago so he really became the epitome of the patriarch of this massive family. also means this is the first close family death we're experiencing as adults - which I know is already a very lucky position to be in (Brian wasn't even around yet in this pic)
he raised wonderful grandchildren, good to know about him, he sounds like a great grandpa to have
