Regardless, I definitely agree with users who said you want cushioning. The lightweight cushioning of the foam is a big benefit of the VFs (probably moreso than the carbon plate), but if you do something else, definitely do something with cushioning, you will be thankful in the last 10k.

RunningVaporflys/Alphaflys (not necessarily version 3) are totally worth it IMO, and you can get great deals on eBay where a lot of stores offload their excess inventory. The Alphaflys seem to last longest and are the best bang for your buck. I wouldn't pay extra for version 3, however.
