Why do you like web3?
I like the login system compared to google & 1password I was HOPING to find some funding through the communities without getting wrapped up in making a dao or game items, haven’t quite figured that out yet. I have learned a lot about web3 technology and encouraged my online identity work as a loop in web3 social
the values are nice but at the end of the day I spend my time here because it's fun. vibrant internet culture (if you look in the right places), smart people, lots of opportunity, generally good vibes
A big reason why many economic systems succeed is a fair, just, and accessible financial and legal system. Most of the world does not have access to this. Web3 is our only solution. https://www.amazon.com/Why-Nations-Fail-Origins-Prosperity-ebook/dp/B0058Z4NR8
A lil mood board of my thoughts: • Fun • New • Lots of potential • Promising if UX meets today’s Web2 standards • Biggest and most obvious surface area in tech to generate and capture value from • Fun Did I say fun?
data probability and accessibility bring your own identity to apps accrue permanent rep through action private/public key > password/username oh the people are great too!
Things I like: - counterculture vibes, encourages experimentation and exploration - curious, positive, idealistic builders - online first connections turning into IRL ones at events. - doesn’t matter as much where you live
- self sovereignty - ease of sending money globally - digital ownership - optimistic constituency - a lot of opportunity - artistic playgrounds
Value of any kind flowing fluidly throughout the internet without intermediaries, plus the ability to build crazy stuff on top of this primitive
Among the primary potentials people cite, I'm also just really enjoying how it feels like a "cultural reset" of the existing internet back to the pre-WWW era. Experimental, quirky, hopeful, with an ethos substantive enough to attract its own differentiated community lovingly trying to build its success into permanency
It’s the next evolution of social coordination. And it maximizes self sovereignty
AGI will use web3 to function (no single point of failure by humans or other AGI)
Tbh I don’t like web3 a lot of the time and that’s because I really care about it I’m v justice and fairness motivated (even in the context of the insanity of existence) and think credibly neutral money legos are our best chance to shift society towards more positive sum games over time.
Just do what you love. Surrounded with amazing friends. But super tiring sometimes.
It's the future 🫡 We're revolutionising the world. And people just don't see it. Even people within the space think it's all speculation.
Ownership, being able to build with and be around smart people, and feeling like you're building a better future
Purest free market = fastest evolution = fastest innovation (no safety net, replicates nature) Replace IP with shared infra and code Replace guns with math Doing the governance experiments necessary to fix meatspace governance - many more iterations using meme/VC money than could be risked in the real world
- building the protocols for a consensual web and eventually society - anti fragile financial system (designed for black swans) - everything is a market - communities can accrue funds for values other than profit - transparent charities (fix philanthropy)
Sending value across the internet as easy as information => unbelievably powerful. Most fun, creative, and stimulating sector of tech for the past ~5 years.
Web3 lies at the intersection of tech, psychology, culture, game theory, philosophy, sociology, and many more areas, which makes it incredibly interesting
People don’t chat about the interoperability enough. Being able to build on top of other applications without the fear of a rug pull is crucial. Imagine how powerful GPT would be if it was interoperable (and not just what they choose to share through the API)
Frankly, I enjoy the people that are comfortable with building into the unknown. They hold a somewhat counter-evolutionary trait (high risk) which leads to super interesting outputs.
my mission is to help communities thrive, and ethereum unlocks so many new possibilities for communities
Scalable decentralization is now a possibility. This is a special point in time where we will get to experience the mass dethrowning of centralised organizations.
Lots of potential energy. I’m attracted to its potential to create, transmit, store, and distribute value
-Open-source -Permissionless+immutable -Self-sovereignty -Composability
For me, it’s about engaging meaningfully with the digital world. Sparked a latent intellectual and tactical curiosity I didn’t know I had. It got me interested in computers, networking, how the internet works, mkney, data structures, user ownership, online communities, and new ways for humans to coordinate.
