@monkeydlinks.eth coined the terms BFC/AFC during gmfarcaster this morning 👏 Scenius at work 💡 If at least 10 people share their BFC/AFC list I will add it to the official farcaster scenius canon @danicaswanson https://opensea.io/collection/farcaster-scenius-canon

Love this thread! Here is what happened with me: Before Farcaster: - launch products = cold start problem - curious about data science - skeptical about NFTs + DAOs After Farcaster: - launch products = bootstrap from FC audience - doing cool data science - creating NFTs + DAOs
Before Farcaster: -depended on crypto conferences for: meeting people I could build with; learning deeply about new crypto products; and getting a sense of market momentum. After Farcaster -meet people I can build with daily. -learn about crypto product daily. -feel uninterested in market momentum.

BFC: - felt alienated & drained by social media - wished for a web3 alternative to Substack - DAO dissolution —> career setback AFC: - feel energized by FC nerd culture/scenius - left Substack; happily moved to Paragraph - wrote scenius-inspired essays —> professional connections —> career boost (more news soon)
Such an enjoyable cast. I def have FOMO because I don’t have such a great list. Before farcaster: - no connection with builders - no high value interaction on any social platform After farcaster: - enjoy seeing builders ‘in action’ - quality discourse on a variety of topics in person & shared articles.
Before farcaster - ran a crypto fund - use twitter for everything After farcaster - building in the farcaster ecosystem 😄 - use twitter mainly for taylor swift content
