I got an Apple Watch Ultra last week and started tracking my sleep. Pretty impressed with how accurate it seems to be. I previously used Whoop, but returned it due to perceived inaccuracies. What will I do with this info? I'm not sure yet, but I love data
It seems to do well in head-to-head comparisons with lab-grade tech: https://youtu.be/XIxvGYg2abQ Also, highly recommend https://trainingtodayapp.com for readiness insights. Helped me spot COVID before symptoms set in.
Having been obsessed with sleep data and having poor sleep myself, I’ve found that bedtime routines (such as all devices off at 9, very dim lights, etc) beat any sleep trackers and apps.
is Ultra supposed to be more accurate than the latest normal Series? [I don't have either, just curious to hear if that is the case]
Other than the potential inaccuracies, curious your experience with Whoop. I found the data was interesting, but never found it to be actionable.
Nice! Very curious to know if the data A. Helps you do things that get you to sleep B. Causes anxiety as you try to fall asleep (for not already being asleep)or C. Other
Welcome to the Apple Watch club. Come share your steps with farcaster friends https://blobs.lol/i/pete
I’m now in the market for one but already in the “let’s wait for next years watch” headspace
you'll adapt your behavior to get max sleep and deep sleep, low puls etc Cardio every day 30 min does the trick
I use a whoop, (similar) the biggest impact has been awareness of sleep hygeine rituals and what i can do better to improve nREM and REM sleep each night.
Seeking your thoughts about this, Colin: I have an automatic watch I love and will wear for the rest of my life. Been pretty happy with my Whoop, too. I'm curious about the capabilities of the Apple Watch, but wearing two watches feels ridiculous. Stick with Whoop for now?
I've always appreciated apps like Sleep Cycle (used them since the first release). Found that the longer it's used, the more valuable the insights. Best outcome for me has been seeing patterns on a long timeline, and adjusting if needed. Is it your first Apple Watch? I've avoided getting one so far.
