Favorite TV mini-series or single season of a TV show?
Firefly. Generation Kill was good too. Recently I enjoyed Squid Game although it's not for everyone.
HBO Rome in two seasons. Amazing acting, great to learn more about Roman history and loads of fun.
Generation Kill, source of my favorite quote for broad applicability - “Never pet a burning dog.” Gulf War I was before my time and I was there a decade later, but “war never changes”
Station Eleven is pretty good Chernobyl was definitely good The Night Of was great I actually liked Vinyl, maybe I’m alone.
- Chernobyl - The Last Dance - We Own This City - Dopesick - WeCrashed - Cyberpunk: Edgerunners
Halt and Catch fire season 1 Or Mare of Easttown for an actual single season show.
Winner: Peaky Blinders season 4 (Adrian Brody as Lucca Changretta takes this to the top) Close second: Peaky Blinders season 2 (Tom Hardy as Alfie Solomons is unreal - understand 30% of what he says but captivated by 100% of it)
-Super Pumped - the batter for Uber -WeCrashed -Love, death and Robots (pick any ep)
Lost, season 1 storytelling unparalleled at that time, spawned a whole industry of fan-driven recap/hypothesizing blogs and podcasts in between episodes
The Dexter season with Colin Hanks and the biblical max murders is pretty epic
Patriot on Amazon prime. 2 seasons. But damn. Then same show runner did Perpetual Grace, LTD . Amazing as well. Both so under appreciated
Munich the movie imagined in my head as a longer running experience in mini-series format.
Friends, Docuseries related to Roman history & The men who built America
Gotta be True Detective season 1. Rust Cohle one of the all-time great TV characters.
The Night Manager. 2016, 6 episodes, Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, Elizabeth Debicki
Gotta second Mare of Easttown. Amazing acting by Jean Smart. And for a very recent limited series (final ep last night), Bad Sisters on 🍎tv.
The Leftovers Season 2 was a special surprise. Mad Men Season 4 is to me, the purest distillation of the series's themes. West Wing Season 2 or 3. (Would be 3, but Two Cathedrals is the best single episode of West Wing)
Watchmen Severance Deadwood (But you’ll watch all 3 seasons, and the movie) Shantaram (promising so far. top 5 books all time for me.)
