How long are you in Amsterdam? What do you like to see? You can do easy day trips to Belgium (Brussels, Brugge, Gent) or Germany (Cologne, Hamburg). The south of NL and B are interesting if you like to see how old mining regions are trying to re-invent themselves. If in Belgium, eat waffles (plain) and fries
