Why do you use Farcaster vs Twitter ?

Mentally stimulating being around builders, problem solvers, and disruptive players... It's rubbed off on me with present employment and certainly web3 projects. I also just like the candor the FC community has ~ welcoming, helpful, and collaborative!

I can say stuff without 3485 trolls pointing out how my post is actually proof that I love their coin, 127 people misinterpreting it out of context, and generally people treating what I say as some grand position-taking pronouncement when often it's closer to a shower thought.

I just don’t really like the bird app — I find it overwhelming. A friend once used the term “schizophrenic” which resonated with me. @dwr once made reference to “zen mode” on a podcast appearance, which I thought was a great idea. I feel like Farcaster as it is rn is the closest thing to bird app with zen mode

Haven’t been using FC enough. Still on the Bird for the reach (which isn’t really there).. thinking of mostly abandoning the Bird- so much noise- but there are still some good accounts to follow there too.

Crypto-native, and also better signal/noise ratio compared to Twitter. Enjoying it while it lasts. Mass adoption inevitably brings spam/bots/grifters to any platform it seems.

If you don't have a Mac, you will probably have to stick with Twitter for now. Unless you like mobile. Most of the world does not have Mac. Web interface on Twitter is still much better. I am hoping that will change eventually

Twitter feels like attention labor. It’s extractive. It drains my time and energy, force-feeds me random BS, and suppresses tweets from people I follow. FC feels restorative. It's enjoyable. There’s real reciprocity. Most casters are earnest and engage in good faith. Doesn’t hurt that purple is my fav color.

TBH, I never really liked Twitter. It turns people into the worst versions of themselves because the algo rewards attention-capturing engagement—Twitter is ultimately an ad company with a social media product, after all. I was ready to jump to a Web3-native option. Bonus, FC has a much higher signal-to-noise ratio.
