The Great Filter theory, specifically what is called the Upper Income Trap -- once a civilization reaches a certain standard of living, approximately that of present day upper-middle-class Westerners, it stops reproducing and then dies out.
I suspect the opposite trend will dominate. Number of nation-states will rise, not fall.
I suspect that the winning approach will use blockchain and crypto incentives to validate and certify legitimate content, as opposed to sniff out fake content. But I'm totally open minded to other approaches.
