I so want to try Remix, yet I’m so used to working with Next.js… Also, learning a new framework after I’ve already learned a new framework that does the same things slightly differently feels like a waste of time. Have any of you tried it though? What do you think of Next vs Remix?
You should try it first or at least check the docs to see what it’s capable of. It’s a query builder alright, but on steroids.
1. Not everyone has the drive to become an entrepreneur. 2. Freedom to do what you’re passionate about is risky as heck and most people are risk averse. 3. People are lazy; will rather take a steady paycheck and complain than go after their visions and dreams.
Hearing "Redux" is instant frontend PTSD for me. Even when I started iOS dev back in 2020, people were like "oh, just use RxSwift for state management" (which basically Redux for Swift). Thankfully, I can avoid this bullshit nowadays; didn't have to touch Redux since 2019 and I won't ever again.
There's a little tool called SimSnap, for grabbing screenshots off of iOs Simulator. https://apps.apple.com/gb/app/simsnap/id6446453433?mt=12 I then use Sketch to build proper art boards for App Store.
that's basically my kind of jam. no time to build all the shitty ideas I've accumulated over the years of just building.
I've been waiting for at least one half-decent entry since 2020... Well said. 500 $DEGEN
That said, I share Friedman's sentiment: government should be limited, and if it can't be limited, it should be dispersed. In the UK about 1/5 of the population works in some capacity for the government, which is insane.
Government hubs like Washington and Brussels have consolidated way too much power over the years. Fortunately, US is in a unique position because it's the only country in the world with a constitution explicitly allowing its citizens to peacefully overthrow a tyrannical government. Can't say the same about EU!
There's also the case of "tyranny of the majority", where needs of minorities or oppositions are neglected because of "majority rule", which can lead to a one-side system.
You do realise that this would be essentially a full-time job of every citizen who needs to do this? It's why in most countries we elect representatives who's sole job is exactly this.
From the last six months of seeing Sentry, it's been mostly this and haven't seen it useful one bit. I think it's a very bloated service tbh, but they all seem to be these days. What alternatives have you thought? Bugsnag is one I use on some older stuff, but all I'd need is something minimalist.
These days it's mostly React, but I'm a Vue veteran and love SwiftUI.
