If it was just the soap? Nah. But it’s one of those things that lets your visitors know u fancy. Maybe even makes u feel a little fancy. And therein lies the value.
if you think brands need supporting, they’re one to support — the scents yes, the social signalling seems surprisingly robust, but it’s the commissioned shop designs that get me
I used to work in cosmetics so can say that many luxury brands (aesop included) run off marketing and slick aesthetics. formulas are all very similar from budget to luxury but the placebo effect is real: People will think more expensive products are more effective every time even if the formula is identical
heard good things about this dupe https://www.elementbrooklyn.com/products/mandarin-hand-soap-refill
I used to work in a hotel that had aesop in all the bathrooms. people would steal it all the time so they started locking the dispensers. then people just started bringing in their own plastic bottles and pumping as much aesop into them as they could 😅
I have found it to have much more bang for your buck. A much smaller drop foams and cleanses a lot more than other soaps. So probably it's much less expensive than it initially seems. That combined with clean design + nice scent + perf mix of hydration/non-creaminess makes it great IMO
Aesop Soap is alright, think there are better ROI but Aesop Fables is def worth the hype
As a person who has Aesop products - it’s worth it when you treat it as “treat yo self” items. Healthy, chemical free and great natural scents.
