Saw recently the news about the first female crash test dummy testing that was done in Sweden & the reports from that. I worked b4 at the Johns Hopkins Center for Research and Policy and was shocked at how car seat safety regulations only became a fed requirement in 1985, thanks to women-led research /advocacy efforts

It's one of the best examples to get skeptics to see how bias plays out in the physical real world. First generation airbags *killed* women and children because they tested for the default male.

“If you’re going on a date, how is a woman even going to get in the car?” Elon making sure the roadster worked for women. Better than crash test dummy story, but still women are thought of as an accessory (a man’s date) not a main actor (the driver) 🤬
