true. bot scourge is winning. & ppl are approaching the problem the wrong way, imo. answer doesn't lie in building new apps, fixing old ones, tweaking algos, etc. these "solutions" just add to the big problem: fragmentation. breaking down barriers b/w existing networks is the only way to build a stronger network

Yes but itās mostly an issue of classification imo. All āsocial media platformsā today have morphed into āperformance media platformsā because building loops for people to make virally engaging content is what makes money. Useful social networks are inherently smaller andā¦
agree but also twitter is not going in the direction of "social network". it goes in the direction of "social media", where it's more about consuming content from big accounts than vibing with your friends
"we will try our best" meaning "I will make decrees on a whim with zero research, and my staff will snap to it"
It feels like Twitter is going in the wrong direction ā no dedicated moderation resources (e.g. scams, bots, trolling, platform manipulation still rampant), misaligned incentives (payouts are encouraging the worst kind of social media experience), getting rid of blocking (?), etc.
