To state for the record: @v and I don't think Farcaster has product-market fit yet. We've had some growth recently and the community has been active and engaged (and civil!), but we need to ship v2, migrate to mainnet, prove that growth can continue to happen when there are gas fees for registrations, etc.
Also on the client side of things: need to get apps successfully into the app stores, ship the web client, support for direct cast multi-device, etc. And then figure out how to get a 2nd read/write client with sustained product velocity that offers practical (not theoretical) exit with interoperability.
Do you consider this due to the product not being fully flourished or not the right audience connected to the product?
Maybe not yet... but you're well on your way! Keep up the great work šŖš„
Do you have a specific KPI or goal in mind that would tell you you've hit product-market fit?
pls keep invite-only for as long as possible and people will pay to register on mainnet. invite-only differentiates farcaster from twitter, while keeping the vibes. clubhouse died the moment it opened up and scaled too fast (alongside many other reasons).
watching you and @v build farcaster has been a huge inspiration for me have no doubt you guys will get there <3
One framing of this is that there is pmf, just in a very narrow market (e.g. subgroup of signal-seeking CT culture) Product now fits the small market, but as product develops and the market expands they force a continual need to refit each other
