I’ve got a super simple contract I need to deploy, is remix still like a viable thing. I genuinely cannot be bothered to spin up the tool chain for such a simple thing locally

Foundry is pretty nice and simple to use locally

I have exclusively used Remix but I’ve only deployed 3 or 4 custom contracts before. But it works

Yeah Remix is still good. I've used it to deploy maybe 50+ contracts over the past six years, and it's been great. Also just used it last week for some stuff. Maybe someday I'll figure out how to use the fancy tools like the cool kids, but Remix is just so easy 🤷

Remix is nice but the Etherscan contract verification plugin is buggy and annoying sometimes

Yes. If you need to verify contract you may have to do it manually
