Might be an easy answer, but I adore Dave Brubeck’s Take Five. It has what’s nice about jazz - the things between the notes. Also, Desmond’s estate did lovely things with the rights and proceeds from licensing.

Kind of Blue is probably the best jazz album. The masterpiece of that genius Miles Davis. It is not an album only for jazz fans, even the most profane enjoy how Davis' trumpet glides smoothly through the 6 tracks, the first is So what, the most unforgettable dialogue between double bass and piano. http://bit.ly/40ArsHp
