Afternoon. Hot shower messes with sleep since body temp has to lower for better sleep. Source: Huberman. Also source: I made it up
Good to go to sleep clean imo but not always in the mood so I switch it up sometimes. Worth noting you should change sheets and pillow case more often if morning !! Also the whole body temp sleep thing but whatever, probably hurts as much to have the bathroom lights on before bed
Are you breaking a sweat during the day? Seems to settle the question if you do.
I typically do morning after workout, but prefer clean body clean sheet synergies as others have mentioned
This is complicated 😅 I prefer evening but often I don’t do it cuz I’m too tired and also in general I’ve started taking showers every 2-3days and I feel like my skin is better off plus less water used. I know some people think it’s gross but even derms recommend that it’s better for your lipid layer
A hill I’m willing to die on: night. Morning is a no because you don’t want to sleep dirty, and both (daily) is unfortunately not an option in the long run because it’s too hard on your skin.
Def night then after run or work out in the morning. Can’t get into bed dirty.
Bc California is no longer in a drought I take 5 showers in the am and 5 showers in the pm
Both. Night shower to wash away the dirt of the day. Morning shower to wash away bed head
Going to start showering at night. Makes getting to work faster in the morning
I always shower at night. Sometimes in the morning too. But I generally exercise later in the day. To optimize for night showers, turn on cold water for the last minute of your shower. It will help you sleep better at night.
Night. And those who say both, didn’t grow up in an area of California with water drought woes and pressure
Depends. This is a day by day judgement call. One of life's big decisions. Also depends on the days exercise as I'll have always showered after that.. 🤣
Cold shower/cold bath in the morning (not really to clean, promote stress response, alertness for the day) Hot shower in the evening (clean, reduce stress, promote sleep)
Night. Wash away everything accumulated during the day. And keep your bed clean
