Happy Valentine's Day, book-loving friends! Let's talk love stories, however you define it. What's your favorite? Or if you're bad at favorites (me), what's your most recent favorite?
Mine is The Price of Salt by Patricia Highsmith. This quote, for one thing: "I feel I am in love with you...and it should be spring. I want the sun throbbing on my head like chords of music. I think of a sun like Beethoven, a wind like Debussy, and birdcalls like Stravinsky. But the tempo is all mine."
Count of monte cristo is my all time fave. Although typically regarded as a revenge story, ultimately the motive is a deep love (that's taken from the protagonist).
Favorite story of life and love is probably Gifts of the Magi by O Henry Favorite novel is the Alchemist Favorite new author is Amor Towles
“Arturo Bandini: -What does happiness mean to you Camilla? Camilla: -That you can fall in love with whoever you want to, and not feel ashamed of it.” ― John Fante, Ask the Dust
I really enjoyed Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow By Gabrielle Zevin
My most recent favourite was November 9 by a Colleen Hoover. It was a book that took me by surprise, I didn’t expect to like it as all but enjoyed it a lot over all. Very easy read. 🥰
I really like "Her", the movie. It's about someone who falls in love with an AI. Highly recommend
i don’t usually read love stories but recently read ‘all about love’ by Bell Hooks, and it was really nice and insightful.
