Maxwell’s innings is exactly the type of freak show that Aussies are capable of and should therefore never be underestimated. Only Kapil’s 175 (138) in 83 WC comes close, as he came in at 17/5 and a loss would have almost certainly eliminated us.

I believe Kapil's inning was far far ahead of his time and no one could even imagine such thing back in the day. While we are well comfortable to smash bowlers for giant runs in today's Cricket. But what Maxwell did was phenomenal and defines the ODI's supremacy. We expect such innings today but not expected back then.
