Are you a Hacker News reader? Is the crypto/web3 hate there stopping you from using it more often? What do you think YC can do to balance the discussion?

Iā€™ve mostly stopped reading HN due to the widespread cynicism

I get the feed delivered via RSS so I can enjoy all the cool links with selective exposure to the commentariat

I get the hacker newsletter once a week and scan it. Still useful this way. I ignore all ā€œdiscourseā€ on crypto At this point, itā€™s a lost cause. Ppl have the opposite of bagholder bias on HN - they canā€™t think clearly

HN got too snarky over recent years for me to want to read it anywhere near as much as I used to, and when I do the crypto hate is a little overboard Yes tech bros will always have a level of snark, but it seems malicious now

Havenā€™t been on it for a few years but for a long time before that it was just way too political in a cynical and distracting way

Itā€™s not YCs job to balance the discussion. Itā€™s been slowly devolving into Reddit over the last few years. Eventually people will get tired of the echo chamber and something new will pop up then that will slowly devolve into Reddit ā€¦

Too negative all the time for my taste. Even YC partners roll their eyes at HN and qualify when discussing social launches.

The internal crypto conversation on Bookface is typically 180 degrees different, or at least trends positive. Beyond crypto, HN has become much more cynical.
