I never know how to describe myself as a reader but can try. Fiction. Making my way through the classics, don't tend to read anything that's not at least 20 years old.
hi i’m bhaumik. non-fiction: history of innovation in culture & technology, memoirs (especially overcoming adversity, eg joothan, dear senator, bitter winds) fiction: tortured artists/scientsits with range, ie. david foster wallace, hunter thompson, palahniuk, recently erik hoel. or cerebral thrillers in book form
I’m interested primarily in fiction, but will also read nonfiction if the writing quality is exceptional. I love scouting out a good novel and will read almost any well written fiction, modern or classic. I have a soft spot for classics though and have probably read more classic than modern novels.
I’m a voracious, curious, whimsical kind of reader. One of my favorite things is to find a writer I like and then read one of their favorite writers. I also love recommending books to people.
Hi, I'm Karmen! I prefer fiction, but love a good historical non-fiction like Wild Swans that wraps it all in a beautifully engrossing narrative. Grew up wanting to read all the classics, but now seeking more stories from different voices and backgrounds. Always open to recommendations of books by POC authors!
My book reading/listening falls into four categories - Fiction: sci-fi (eg red rising and expanse and Hugo) and novels (demon copperhead and the wager) - Audible science and tech nonfiction (eg RWO and the coming wave) - Audible finance and money (eg same as ever and broken money) - other (rereads, history, politics)
Hey, thanks for sharing out my idea @picnic! Since I majored in Philosophy, I’m a heavy non-fiction reader. I love to learn about the history of ideas and the different schools of thought that keep emerging. Although right now I’m kind of burnt out and would like to read some fiction. Open to suggestions!
Reading has been a core part of my identity since I discovered Pokemon had books at the age of 4 📚 Since then, my main bookish interests are fantasy & sci-fi (eg name of the wind, foundation, dune) and non-fiction related to neuroscience, human behaviour, and self-actualization (eg finding flow, stolen focus, RWO)
Strategy/philosophical books like Art of War, Robert Greene's books, The Book of 5 Rings, The Tao of Jeet Kun Do (love martial arts) and others. Also business/marketing. I read to develop myself. I prefer physical hardcovers that I fill with notes and highlights but sometimes audiobooks go hard.
hello everyone, I'm chai. just your average reader fam, I enjoy reading mostly fiction but sometimes read about tech here and there! i grew up reading loads of Enid Blyton and then have been focused more towards fantasy and literary fiction. A big paperback fan but i have two kindles to keep me sane while on road.
hey it’s yikae here 🫶 i love sci-fi books, reading project hail mary now! isaac asimov’s foundation (and the show) is good too. otherwise you’ll find me with science, history, psychology. ps i’m new to warpcast 👶
I'm fuzzy, I like to read about math and computers. Mostly fundamentals for practical topics.
I like historical fiction, sci-fi, character psychology study and occasional philosophy & nonfiction book. My favorite authors are Vladimir Nabokov, Virginia Woolf, Joan Didion, Jean Rhys to name a few. Recent favorite read was Underground: The Tokyo Gas Attack and the Japanese Psyche by Haruki Murakami
I enjoy thrillers, crime fictions, comedy, young adult, high school series.
Creative nonfiction. Histories and personal stories. I have a fat stack of fiction in my queue but keep skipping the line w a new NF. Not a fan of self help and productivity books. Not because I have either mastered. Far from it. They just give me guru, cultish, get rich quick, scammy vibes I can’t seem to shake
I really enjoy reading books about human psychology and biological allostasis. I'm also huge into scifi novels. Guiltiest pleasure? Reading Warhammer 40k novels
Biovert here. I read fiction and nonfiction and cereal box labels. Fiction-wise I tend toward Sci-fi (but never enough), mysteries (writing one now), and I trend toward speculative, oh-wow ideas. Non-fiction is a mix is bio science, business and marketing (which combined is my day job).
Hi! I’m Emily and I love reading! I took a really long break from reading (for whatever reason) and finally jumped right back into! I love horror, fantasy and romance 🙈 Stephen King’s It is probably one of my favorite books and I just recently finished the Stand! Insane book and so amazing
Big fan of libraries to checkout fiction. I enjoy audiobooks when on vacation.
I am a fantasy writer and reader. I love turning a poetic phrase into prose. I really love finding fantasy that speaks to my poetic soul.
