I wholeheartedly agree with u. Everything is completely broken. Seriously why would dapps rely on connecting to wallets, it is totally insane - you cannot grow like that. The Warpcast way is the only one and it too creates fragmentation.
Has someone done a diagnosis video of this? Would lbe helpful to identify the painpoints in the userflow.
Where did you land on Coinbase Wallet compatibility? I remember you having some issues. Anything I can relay to the team?

Itās a massive pain. Super hit-or-miss. Ironically, it works 100% of the time straight via MetaMask browser. Another workaround we found is if you disable MetaMask showing as a default option and force users to go through the wallet connect -> MetaMask option that has a higher success rate.

It's really bad. I just literally open every dapp directly in my metamask browser bc that seems like the only way I can ever SIWE successfully...
Mobile is almost unusable now. And Rainbow was the killer app for me on mobile. (Kudos to you - looks like you worked on it?). But WC2 ruined it š¢
Iāll be happy when there is wider support for Rabby wallet. Ditching MetaMask was one of the better moves Iāve made recently.
Iām really considering ripping out rainbow kit for this reason. Meta mask on mobile and Coinbase wallet have good enough built in browsers at this point.
use walelt like ambire wallet that does not use WC on mobile instead provides a browser with injected web3 so you use it like metamask on desktop. Same goes for zerion on mobile
I donāt understand why nobody updated? We stsrted running v2 a year ago although I canāt say Iāve enjoyed managing connection edge cases, though thatās more related to the dynamic of the client being the account owner and not the service What are your thoughts on better options? As a user I want less clicks
v2 has been working fine for me thus far but maybe Iām an outlier? Have only tested on iPhone / Safari. Where is this breaking the most on mobile?

Yeah, really annoying and seemingly selfish rollout. The whole idea of WalletConnect to me was a more decentralized solution, but WC basically asserted itself as an authority that was important enough to break a bunch of shit on purpose. Annoyed, think we should move away from it.
my fav moment was seeing how many commits to the wc v2 repos there were during the week prior to the cutoff ā¦ they should have probably cooked some more. considering running a v1 wc relay for a bit lol
