You'd be surprised, I have run research with prototypes going through KYC (they don't have to put actual info in) and people still were hesitant. Definitely important research to conduct though!

A potential participant concern is probably about how that data will be handled (in the context of research recordings) Maybe explicitly define who will have access to their recording & how that data will be used (anonymized, aggregated, etc) Might see some lift!

Samesies. I ran those testing for Coinbase onboarding years back, and not just in research - people had questions in general why crypto companies asked for those - that's why we added contextual FAQ during signup.
