You're opinionated and direct, but I never detected asshole. IMO being this way is great. Too many people minimize offensiveness rather than maximize their true personality and opinions. Don't change!

Just be you, friend. Genuine knows genuine. The defensive and overly sensitive folk just aren't ready to open their minds to learning anything contrary to what they know about the world or themselves - have compassion for them while they revolt, but be unwavering in speaking truth and feelings from the heart.
