does anyone here switch up their workouts? i've heard you're supposed to switch it up - like do different shoulder exercises this week vs last week, maybe every two weeks, etc. this makes sense to me in theory but in practice, how do you go about programming this? seems like so much work

you don’t need to switch exercises that frequently. do the same exercises for a few weeks and harness progressive overload - increased weight, increased reps, more sets, decreased rest, etc

Based on my experience that's a myth but I'm a sample of one. Do whatever works for you.

I don't switch it all the time, usually do progressive overload. When I am bored of the regular programming, I do a peloton strength class instead of the usual

I much prefer just relying on compound exercises (ie many muscles in a movement). It's mostly a personality thing: what keeps you motivated? I love regularity. Some frens prefer novelty.

i just do crossfit — in the past i made up two weeks of varied programming for myself, but that kinda sucked

I try to stick to this general format which helps keep things interesting https://warpcast.com/bgrill/0x842a32
