The thing about Corporate America that bewilders me is the higher up you go the less human people become. Why is everything robotic? The most successful executive just happens to be the most human 🤔

Larping But people do want to start rejecting this old norm. I gave a talk about leading with heart at a tech conference last year. We just need more and more role models with new leadership skills

Risk. The stakes are tighter the higher up you go. One wrong step takes away all you've built. And what you've built is more about membership and respect in that elite club with "act like a robot rules". It's not about the money at that point.

It's probably not natural for humans to be in charge of such large groups, with today's instant feedback loops. I remember reading Jeff Immelt's (ex-GE CEO) daily routine, it was not human.

Trying to change this as I gradually work my way up. Established a leadership philosophy early on when managing teams of volunteers and it's served me well.
