The way Hume can instantly detect and respond to the emotionality in human speech is really impressive. An API is coming, it will be interesting to see what devs build with this tech. I’m thinking this could have implications for realtime interactive storytelling (and beyond)
New Adobe Firefly feature for image generation released today! 👀👀 It’s called ‘structure reference’ - by uploading an image, you set a blueprint for how elements are arranged, focusing on layout rather than style or content. You can also combine that with a separate style reference.
I created a fictional “big game” video ad about a drink that "will literally make you float in the air" using AI tools (Midjourney + ChatGPT/Gemini + After Effects) to accelerate video production workflows... and I won 1st place in an AI ad competition! 🎉😄 https://x.com/fbrcai/status/1763311762173227482?s=20
AI helping to land complex gigs on Upwork is wild for the freelance world! Big shifts underway for the gig economy.
For producers, TikTok's ongoing legislative challenges are a reminder of the importance of adaptable strategies in content delivery and engagement. I’d say 1) try to be consistent across all popular platforms, cross-posting at minimum, preferably unique media/formats 2) build up an email list of core audience
The convergence of AI and emotional support in times of loss is both fascinating and vital. Tech showing its heart. https://techcrunch.com/2024/03/12/empathy-berevement-death-ai/
I’ve been using my Quest 2 much more during the past week (to reduce AVP fomo) - and Meta has definitely improved the UX dramatically since I first start using Quest 2 a few yrs ago. You can tell they feel the competition from the AVP and are now integrating visionOS-style interactions.
Have you tried out Clips? I prefer Premiere Rush for mobile editing but Clips is a pretty good free option made by Apple. (It supports vertical video editing)
iMovie HD (2005-2006) was the only good version of iMovie in my opinion… then in 2007 they redesigned it (made it worse) and that’s when I started teaching myself Final Cut and Premiere. I don’t think it’s ever recovered from the 2007 version.
Yes for sure, happens often. According to their help docs they “dynamically adjust the exact usage cap depending on demand and system performance” https://help.openai.com/en/articles/7102672-how-can-i-access-gpt-4
Ah yeah for sure… the infrastructure was not able to handle this. whole neighborhoods had the bottom floor of homes washed out today. Highest rainfall in a January day on record!
Pretty insane levels of flooding in downtown San Diego right now 😳 https://x.com/yourcomicmuse/status/1749505289219633405?s=46&t=X3iEw4fI_u17RX5ORhqWTw
Not currently in my budget to buy a Vision Pro… although I think it would be amazing for creative workflows. Spatial = less time hunched at a desk. I’m already looking forward to the next (maybe cheaper?) version. In the meantime, I’m considering booting up my Quest 2 just to feel… in VR… and less FOMO? 🙏
A personal and honest video from Marques all about the recent trend of YouTubers “retiring”. An interesting watch for anyone in the creator-space: https://youtu.be/GQAvce3MA44
I feel the same way! It does feel somewhat cringy to call myself a “content creator” I usually prefer “producer” or “media producer”
Interesting, I’ve seen YouTubers first build an audience on Shorts and then succeed with long-form on the same channel. His reasoning seems off: successful shorts don’t automatically = successful long-form. I think with iteration he could succeed. But it will be hard if he thinks thumbnails don’t matter 🤔
I’m focusing first on editing/post prod, with a goal to streamline workflows. But I think the real power of vertical integration will be when the pre-prod > capture/generation > post-prod is all interconnected. I have a vid with more thoughts on this if interested https://youtu.be/be1tY-MVlYU?si=zdLql-6h0nAz-fNE
great question😅 The tech still needs to improve. We are really close to one-person media studios being viable. I’m preparing with: 1) audience segmentation: building a brand that can have multiple channels for different niches. (The BBC model will be democratized) 2) vertically integrated workflows 3) IP dev
I have a contrarian take on the need to have “focus” on one niche or project. I think while that used to be true, new tech will allow producers to scale up & work on multiple projects. Directing the outputs, allowing tech to do the grunt work. Creators will benefit by diversifying their media portfolios.
AI video production tools = an entire film studio at your fingertips! 🚀 I made a promo for my new “choose your own adventure” narrative GPT: - Midjourney V6 alpha for images - Runway for video + voices - Stable Audio for music 1 min trailer posted on X: https://x.com/shannonleonard/status/1746640554652467554
