How do people honestly feel about decentralized identity & social blockchains? The market says no. Non-blockchain P2P technologies always seem to fail. Why? Is it all economics? Or because servers only make sense at global scale?

Trinity of social media modalities: many purposefully limited-scale, community-driven social networks / “digital gardens” (posts, Warpcast) few globally reaching monolithic networks / “town squares” (Twitter) innumerable federated, interoperable, on demand networks / “servers” (discord) sounds familiar

I saw a thread on the chatGPT subreddit bemoaning how since the product went viral, the post quality had tanked bc of “all the crypto bros flooding in looking for the next big thing to latch onto” and even though I don’t post felt both personally attacked and never so fully seen

Hi Farcaster 🌊 excited to be on. I’m generally not social online at all. To me, it kind of feels like being naked in a dream. I wonder if that will be the case for me on Farcaster as well. Different tech ➡️ different modalities? Certainly attracts a specific crowd
