Can Waymo and Cruise scale to a lot more trips inside SF and in the world? Does their unit economics make sense?

The economics question is super interesting. Anecdotally, I’ve seen Waymo costs roughly 1.5x Uber for same route (usually longer wait times). Just checked now though and they seem about the same. A data set of prices/routes/service providers would be a extremely interesting

Not sure about unit economics but there are a few meaningful value props that are robo > human that will allow robotaxi to take more market share eg safety around driver committed crimes.
