Shoes on or off in the house? If off, do you expect guests to take their shoes off too? What about gatherings and parties?

The only people who ask this are Americans. Me watching US TV shows: Shoes on the couch? Shoes on the bed??? What, are y’all afraid the floors are dirty? They wouldn’t be if you took your shoes off!!!!

My family is staunch shoes off - although I wasn’t originally. Guests naturally take shoes off most of the time - especially if they see shoes stacked or shelved at front door, but no need to make a big deal if they keep shoes on.

Outdoor shoes off for sure. But during work hours I like to wear an old pair of vans that I keep for indoor use. Outside work hours I wear slippers.

Always off! Even for guests! I think it’s gross to wear shoes at home and it’s more comfortable without shoes!

Off. Off. Off. Each of our homes is it’s own sanctuary with its own rules and rituals. Taking off shoes night be just one.

Off in the summer when it’s warm and I’m going barefoot, but indoor slippers in the winter when it’s cold. I have hardwood floors that can be slippery with only socks on. Guests can take shoes off or keep them on, but they’re usually on. I’ll keep my shoes on at gatherings unless I see everyone else take th

Shoes off at home and in the office. But I don't dictate what others do. I believe it's better for our bodies to be shoeless as much as possible
