Been seeing more articles about boomer becoming homeless at record rates due to rising CoL and people not saving for retirement. Super depressing to think about. At that age, the "work harder" argument kinda goes out the window.

They were sold the narrative that social security would take care of them - my folks have zero retirement funds essentially.

Indeed, save your ducats. But also we are failing as a society to the extent mentally healthy people end up on the street.
