Innovation is not the only thing that matters, and on a percentage basis we only need a tiny amount of it. Even very important jobs like nursing, teaching, military etc require almost 0 innovation in the day-to-day work. Even if you're a lawyer, engineer etc, genuine innovation is a very small part of the work.
