Yes definitely. People travel for all kinds of experiences including Instagram friendly pop-ups and some cities might be specifically suited for an AR experience. Ie Medieval in London, Vampires in Romania, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Nostalgia will also be a strong factor and play a big role in the success of such experiences. I can also imagine forgotten cities or places being resurrected with new life.
