B Unfortunately my attention span can't make the former unless it's a topic I'm really engrossed in.

In most cases I would choose b. But if it's a topic of interest to me, why not read a lot of text)

B. 90% blog posts storytelling is not good enough to hold my attention. Few exceptions like Tim Urban :)

B. While I appreciate long write-ups, I have a hard time digging in them as I fear they are poorly written or they would just not satiate the knowledge I seek. So I prefer to ponder something really deep and short and try to figure out how it connects to other things on my own. (but best is likely a mix of both)

The medium is the message. Compression is lossy. Deep compression of something is easy to consume and marinate over but it has an upper bound of how complex of an argument/scenario it can set up in order to drive home a point. Most things have lots of nuances and one needs space to explore the nuances

B. If it’s A, I’m generally listening, not reading.

imo, reading is a matter of trust. Prefer b) for authors and/or topics that I have little understanding of. Prefer a) when I trust the author and their ability to follow through in making sense of their ideas

A, and the consensus answer here is a sign to me that a lot of people answering here have got to work on their attention as well as intentions. Intentionally digesting short form anything has consequences, known and unknown.
