How much time do you spend curating your own original thoughts, vs consuming the thoughts of others? My personal answer: *WAY TOO LITTLE* I think this ratio of create / consume is a key to both success and happiness. I hope you enjoyed *consuming* this cast š
Iām on the opposite end of this extreme. I consume way too little of others thoughts. Iād say 90% of my writing is based on experiences my own thinking transposed into writing. Thank you for allowing me to consume a little more.
How do you assess this? I think I spend little time. I avoid most content related to things Iām building in and donāt spend much time looking at any projects building in similar space
One of my smartest friends once said āthinking is hardā. It was a simple statement and it stuck with me. The sustained effort needed to see an idea through to clarity or something approaching originality takes real commitment. Can be habituated but Iām with you on the ātoo littleā, alas.
one of my close friends (whose tweets I see very often in my feed) told me that she barely reads her feedāonly reads/responds to friends replies to her. that blew my mind... there are people who use twitter to *just* write?
WAY too little on my own. I spend a lot of time in my head, but donāt let much of it out. I also donāt āplay withā the words as much as Iād like.
@dwr.eth could warpcast show me my ratio? Minutes spent composing / minutes spent scrolling
way too much imo, one thing farcaster is convincing me to do is read more books
