I think it’s more about keeping people that shouldn’t be talking to one another away from eachother than anything else All those same ppl exist on Twitter but the algo keeps them in their bubble Also why it’s miserable to go viral, your content escapes your normal bubble

from what I've seen, the reason bluesky was whipped up into rage was due to a few influencers trying to bait as many people as possible (including the initial trolling). they & their audience aren't using the algo, they're using grassroots "bush telegraph" technique.

that's also an important factor but I think Bluesky attracted and catered to ppl that aren't comfy just having their own bubble they want to actively ensure that ppl with differing opinions are denied a bubble as well they don't just dislike crypto discussion, they won't tolerate it because they consider it evil
