Twitter was founded in 2006 Was anyone here active on that platform, then? Did it feel like Farcaster does now?

I joined in mid-2007. IIRC, it was more content than building on top of it (though there was that). It didn’t have the broader toolset/systems and the app itself stayed pretty light.

I started using X, then Twitter, in 2009. I also used various web3 or socialfi apps for the last three years. I am confident that Farcaster stands out as a formidable competitor to web2 social media. Its seamless interface, familiar design, and thriving community check all the boxes for success.

I didn't join at that time because it seemed silly to me. I think this is an important difference between then and now. We have a much better understanding of what we want from a social network and why we want to use it etc. Nobody knew anything back then.

Yes, I was in twitter early on. I used to send text messages to post on it. Didn’t read much on it early on. That changed when I got a smartphone a couple years later

I joined Twitter in 2008. I remember it being very “quippy”, it was all about one liners. And people would play hashtag games that could only be described as “improv via short form message”? It was weird but fun. Hard to compare to farc because it’s still so tech focused rn.

I joined X since 2010, and I feel that Far now has infrastructure that surpasses X. The number of Far users will soon exceed X .

March 2007 for me and it felt like a casual curiosity and a bit odd. But then in August my friend @chrismessina posted the first #hashtag- that was my lightbulb moment. Expect something somewhat analogous here.
